The German Football Association has officially ended Julian Nagelsmann's tenure as head coach of the national team after the "Mannschaft" was eliminated from the 2026 World Cup, following disappointing results.

In a statement released on Friday, the German FA announced that Nagelsmann had resigned from his position after the team exited in the Round of 32.

The German FA confirmed: "The leadership will now seek to open talks with Jürgen Klopp to take over as head coach, and he has already expressed his willingness to accept the role."

The German national team was knocked out of the World Cup in the Round of 32 after drawing 1-1 with Paraguay and losing 4-3 on penalties, ending their campaign early.
