The Moroccan national team continues to reap the rewards of its impressive performance at the 2026 World Cup, having secured new financial bonuses after reaching the quarter-finals with a convincing 3-0 victory over Canada, confirming that their historic achievement at the Qatar 2022 World Cup was no fluke.
Azeddine Ounahi led the "Atlas Lions" to victory by scoring two goals, before Sofiane Rahimi capped off the scoring, as the Moroccan team maintains its strong presence in the tournament under coach Mohamed Wahbi.
Morocco's gains extend beyond the sporting realm, as their financial earnings have risen to $21.5 million so far, according to the Moroccan Football Federation.
The team received $10 million for participating in the World Cup finals, along with $2.5 million from FIFA as support to cover preparation costs, including training camps, travel, accommodation, and logistical aspects.
Additionally, Morocco earned $1 million after advancing from the group stage, followed by $4 million for defeating the Netherlands in the Round of 32, and another $4 million after their victory over Canada, securing their place in the quarter-finals.
