FC Bayern Munich has officially announced that star player Jamal Musiala has undergone a routine, pre-planned surgery following his return from the 2026 World Cup with the German national team.
The club clarified that the surgery was part of a long-term treatment and medical follow-up plan for the serious injury Musiala sustained in the summer of 2025, and was not due to any setback or new injury.
German reports indicated that the procedure involved the removal of a metal plate that was implanted in his left foot after he suffered a fibula fracture and ankle dislocation during a match against Paris Saint-Germain in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
Bayern Munich confirmed that Musiala will begin a structured rehabilitation and training program in the coming period, with expectations that he will be ready to participate with the team at the start of the 2026-2027 season.
