Marc-André ter Stegen, Barcelona's goalkeeper, is close to joining Ajax on a one-season loan as negotiations between the two clubs progress towards finalizing the agreement.

Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that Ajax will determine the portion of the German goalkeeper's salary they will cover based on the number of matches he plays during the season, while Barcelona will bear the majority of his salary.

The source noted that the Dutch club refused to agree on a fixed amount, preferring to link the salary value to appearances to avoid incurring high costs in case the player suffers an injury or is absent for an extended period.

This decision comes after Girona's experience with ter Stegen, where the club paid a fixed amount of nearly one million euros to Barcelona, despite the goalkeeper only playing two matches before getting injured.

The same source added that Ajax understands it could end up paying more than three million euros if ter Stegen plays regularly throughout the season, but they preferred to set this condition to protect their interests.

This clause is part of the final details being discussed by both clubs before completing the loan deal for the German goalkeeper to Ajax for the upcoming season.
