Egyptian club Al Ahly has delayed the press conference for the introduction of their new coach, Moroccan Hussein Amouta, by 24 hours, pushing his official unveiling to Tuesday instead of the previously scheduled time.
Al Ahly announced through its media center that Amouta would arrive in Cairo on Sunday evening with members of his coaching staff, in preparation for the press conference, before the club's management decided to postpone it for a day without disclosing the reasons for the decision.
The conference is expected to be attended by the club's director of football, Wael Gomaa, alongside the Moroccan coach, to announce details of the upcoming phase and the team's preparation plan for the new season.
Al Ahly has officially contracted Hussein Amouta to lead the first team, succeeding Danish coach Jes Torup, with whom the club mutually agreed to end the contract after the season.
The club hopes to regain competitiveness for domestic titles next season after finishing last season's Egyptian Premier League in third place with 53 points, just one point behind second-placed Pyramids and three points behind champions Zamalek.
