Jordan Henderson suffered a surprise injury that required urgent medical attention after falling during England's celebrations following their 3-2 victory over Mexico in the Round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup.

A report by The Sun stated that the England players celebrated with their fans in the stands of the Azteca Stadium after the match, before one player fell during the celebrations, later identified as Jordan Henderson.

The report noted that the Brentford player did not participate in the match and remained on the bench throughout, despite receiving a yellow card in the final minutes while the England team was maintaining their lead.

The newspaper added that Henderson was injured after the final whistle and during the celebratory atmosphere, necessitating medical assistance and his transport on a stretcher.

England captain Harry Kane commented on the incident, saying: "Jordan just fell there, I think he’s fine."
