Football Italia reports that representatives of English defender John Stones have reached out to Inter Milan again to offer the player on a free transfer, but the Italian club's management does not seem eager to finalize the deal.

Inter is looking to strengthen its defense, competing with Como for Chelsea and England defender Trevoh Chalobah, who is valued at €30 million, plus €5 million in incentives.

The same source indicated that Stones' agents proposed the player to Inter as one of the available options to bolster the defense during the summer transfer window.

Stones, 32, has become a free agent after his contract with Manchester City ended, concluding a ten-year stint with the English club.

Despite having extensive experience with 257 Premier League appearances and 62 Champions League matches, Inter does not seem ready to move forward with the signing, as the player has also been offered to Napoli and Juventus.

Stones is willing to reduce his salary, which was €10 million per season with Manchester City, but he insists on signing a two-year contract with an option for a third year, which clubs are currently reluctant to commit to.
