Juventus has officially announced the appointment of Frederic Massara as Executive Director of Football, marking the club's return to having a sports director to lead the technical and transfer operations after the absence of this role last season.

Massara will work directly under CEO Giovanni Carnevali, overseeing the management and development of the men's football sector in collaboration with sporting director Marco Ottolini.

With extensive experience in sports management, Massara previously worked with Roma and Inter Milan, and played a key role alongside Paolo Maldini in building the team that led Milan to win the Serie A title in 2022. He later worked with Rennes before returning to Roma last season, where he was instrumental in signing Donyell Malen before leaving the club.

Massara's first challenge will be to accelerate Juventus' movements in the summer transfer market, particularly regarding player sales to fund new signings, as well as finding a solution for the future of Randal Kolo Muani, with negotiations having recently stalled. The club hopes Massara will replicate his previous successes in securing impactful signings that benefit the team's project.

As part of the management restructuring, Juventus also confirmed Giorgio Chiellini's continued presence at the club, where he will lead relations with local and international football federations and institutions, including the Italian Football Federation and UEFA and FIFA, while continuing to support management in sports and strategic aspects.
