Newcastle took the lead through Dan Burn in the 45+1 minute after a cross from a corner that he expertly headed into the Reds' net.
In the 53rd minute, Alexander Isak scored a second goal after a cross that a Newcastle player headed, followed by Isak finishing it with a shot into the net.
Liverpool scored a goal to reduce the deficit through Federico Chiesa in the 90+4 minute, but it was ruled out for offside; however, the goal was confirmed after reviewing the video.
This title marks Newcastle's first-ever League Cup victory in history.
