Al-Ittihad has finalized an agreement with German coach Jens Wissing to take over as head coach of the first team, succeeding Portuguese Sergio Conceição, who departed due to disappointing results.
Wissing is expected to arrive in Jeddah within the next 48 hours to sign contracts and officially begin his duties with the team in preparation for the new season.
Sources confirmed to Al-Yawm newspaper that the coach's selection followed a meeting of the technical committee, with the approval of official Domingos, who supported the move to hire the German coach.
Al-Ittihad is currently working to expedite the technical preparation steps to ensure the new staff is ready to lead the training period and the external camp.
The club's management is also planning to make several signings during the summer transfer window to strengthen the squad based on the vision of the new coaching staff.
Al-Ittihad hopes to reorganize its technical framework after a fluctuating season, relying on a new project led by Wissing to return the team to competition for titles.
